India's telecom subscription increased to 671.69 million at the end of June from 653.92 million a month before thereby registering a growth rate of 2.72 per cent, official data showed here.

The overall tele-density in India reached 56.83 per cent. 

According to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), wireless subscriber base increased from 617.53 million in the period under review to 635.51 million, registering a growth of 2.91 per cent. Wireless tele-density stands at 53.77.

Wireline subscriber base declined from 36.39 million in May to 36.18 million at the end of June. Overall wireline tele-density reached 3.06 per cent.

The country's total Broadband base rose from 9.24 million to 9.45 million, there by showing a growth of 2.27 per cent.
