Celebrities now make guest appearances on online games

Agent VinodBollywood has of late been using the gaming platform as an active way of promoting movies. While we have often seen games based on films, various celebrities are now making guest appearances on gaming platforms to promote their flicks. A movie-based character is introduced in these games for a short period of time which helps the celebrities gain their share of fame.

Mumbai Underworld on ibibo.com is amongst the more popular games in India with about 3 million game players, as per the company’s claims. Recently, it featured a surprise entry of Agent Vinod aka Saif Ali Khan in to the game. Agent Vinod, incidentally, is the lead character played by Saif Ali Khan in his soon to be released home production.

In the game, the character, Agent Vinod, is a protection agent who saves  gamers from outside attacks. Agent Vinod is not alone inside the game, he is accompanied by Iram, played by Kareena Kapoor in the movie. Iram helps gamers collect money from their various properties in the Mumbai Underworld.

Similarly,   Vidya Bagchi,  the lead character of Kahaani  was introduced in the game –The Great Indian Parking Wars.  The character asked gamers to help her find her missing husband. Vidya’s yellow taxi, like in the movie Kahaani, moves from street to street, looking for her missing husband in the game.

It seems that Bollywood is also mastering the art of making special appearances in games.
