Emirates Airlines offers HP’s Windows 8 tablets to staff

hpIt was during the launch of Windows 8 in Dubai, that the native airlines company, Emirates Airline, announced that it would be distributing HP’s Windows 8 tablets to its cabin and staff crew. The airline carrier has opted to give 1,000 HP ElitePad 900 tablets to its staff people.

The company has chosen HP’s device over others considering the build factor and the long running battery life, which would last during long flights. Moreover, the tablets will feature a business application named Knowledge Driven In-flight Service that would help the staff to manage passenger data and serve them better. Though Emirates has been using the KDIS service since 2004, it has not been used on in-flight tablets so far.

Considering that the device has not been launched yet, the HP ElitePad 900 is expected to reach the Emirates staff by January end. However, the total supply would only happen by the end of the year 2013.
