Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), the state owned telecom provider for mobiles, landline and broadband connections will soon be availed by just sending a message or through an online process.
According to a top company official the subscribers of any operator can send an SMS to 9868552121 and can get a new MTNL landline, broadband or mobile connection. The subscribers will be charged according to the standard SMS rate of the operator. The company has also started a similar service for the online applicants.
For the Mumbai circle, MTNL has started booking of broadband connections through a toll free number as well.
