Micromax is leaving no stone unturned to grab market shares with its slew of mobile devices and the latest that we hear about joining the bandwagon is a Windows device. Yes, you heard it right; if our sources are to be believed Micromax is now working to bring out a low end Windows Phone powered device.
As per the sources, this Micromax smartphone is not going to join its phablet family as the display will be kept at 4-inch and the device will be powered by a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It’ll incorporate a 512MB RAM and flaunt a 5-megapixel camera. That’s all what we know on the hardware side. And the best part comes now; the price for this first Micromax smartphone powered by Windows is likely to be fixed at Rs 6,999.
After cutting the chase short with Samsung, Micromax seems to be now competing with Nokia, who has been the only brand dedicated to Windows Phone operating system. The challenging part for them is to bring out a device equivalent or as powerful as Nokia’s. The Finnish mobile maker has won accolades for its Lumia series running Windows Phone and Micromax will have to come out with something even better or at least similar to grab consumers’ attention.
This device is expected to roll out in the Indian market sometime mid-year but we hear that it might make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress which is scheduled for later this month.
