Quality comes first

Nokia X1-01 too is a Dual SIM device and it supports two GSM SIMs at a time and both the SIMs are active at the same time. Though it’s a Dual SIM handset, but it has only one calling button. When you are trying to make a call, the handset will prompt you to select the SIM you want to use. All the contacts and messages of both the SIMs are in one phonebook but it’s well illustrated from which SIM they belong. Both the SIM slots are under the battery of the handset. However, the micro SD card is hotswapable.

It is smart looking mobile and most part of the gadget is made of shiny plastic and the back part is in dark grey colour. The build quality of the handset is good. The back panel is curved, which makes it easier to hold this mobile. The main panel of the handset has a 1.8 inch screen. Just below the screen is the square shaped navigation button. Nokia X1-01 does not have a D-Pad. The left panel of the handset houses the music shortcut key, while the right panel has the card slot. This handset can support up to 16 GB through a microSD card. The top panel has a charger slot, torch light and 3.5 mm audio jack. The back panel has the loudspeaker grill. The up key of the navigation button shortcut for torch light.

Music world

Despite being economical, the handset does not disappoint in the music front. One can play, stop, rewind and forward your songs through the music shortcuts keys itself. Even the sound quality through both loudspeaker and earphones was good. The handset also allows you to create your favourite playlist under the My Favourite option. Apart from that there was also an option of repeat and shuffle songs. Apart from the music player, Nokia X1-01 also has an FM radio. The FM reception of this handset is good and one can pre save up to 30 FM channels in this handset. One can also select FM radio as an option for alarms. Though there is no shortcut key for FM but one can set it in the navigation shortcut key.

One up

Nokia X1-01 comes loaded with Nokia Life Tools and Nokia Money. Through the help of Nokia Life Tools, you can access music, agriculture, health tools and more such services. Also, through the Nokia Money, one can transfer money through their mobile handset. However, to make use of any of these services you will first have to subscribe to the same.
For entertainment, there are three games in this handset - Snake, Sudoko and Music League. Apart from this there are also certain utility features like unit convertor, calculator, calendar, stop watch and spreadsheet. Through Spreadsheet you can keep track of your expenses for the entire year. The handset claims to offer a battery back up of 10 hours and it stands tall on its claims as well.
